There is a couple up at the hospital. They are from Virgina and were visiting here in Pennsylvania to participate in some type of extreme sports. While here they were out bike riding and the wife went over the handle bars. She broke the first vertebrae and will be in traction for the next 6 weeks. She must remain perfectly still or she risk being paralyzed and even death. She and her husband called on some of the priesthood brethren to give her a blessing for her well-being and the families emotional well-being. They have three children back home, aged 15,6,5, and they will be watched after by their grandmother. Anyway, we are looking for ways to ease some of their burdens. We have already taken up snacks and will continue to do so and have arranged to take meals. Any other suggestions? Any would be welcomed.

Oh, I'm so sorry to hear that. We have a boy in our stake who was on a HS choir trip to Canada, and seriously injured his neck/spine while there. His parents had to come up to stay with him and members of the church opened their house to his parents for the duration of his hospital stay. I know it was a huge gesture. If there is anyone in your ward in a position to do that, I'm sure it would be appreciated. I don't think you should offer, since you're a cute lady whose husband is gone a lot, but maybe somebody could offer.
I think I told you all my ideas on the phone already but just to say again that simply showing up at the hospital and expressing your concern & spending time will be so appreciated. I'm glad you have such a caring heart. Bet they really appreciated the dinner you brought to the hospital tonight.
