a night in the garden

Tonight for Family Home Evening, we talked about gardening and how gardening relates to life. We talked about how planning, preparing, tending, and harvesting were both important in growing a garden and living our lives. We also discussed how obstacles could arise in both areas and how we need to always be mindful of the pests, weeds, and other impediments that could potentially destroy our garden and not only our lives but eternal well-being. The kids did an amazing job in coming up with ways on avoiding such obstacles in life. Their answers included praying to their Heavenly Father for guidance, reading the scriptures, following the prophet, and obeying their parents and the commandments. After our lessons we went outside to practice what we preached.

All were excited to be there.....

some more than others....
some worked really hard....
some got really muddy.....

and some even got a little indecent......

but we all had fun and learned a good lesson as a family.
