Our Memory Tree

My mother-in-law did a great post about her Christmas tree and memory ornaments. I just loved it and since I too have become an ornament collector, I thought I would share some of my treasures.
Each child has their own first Christmas ornament, which they hang each year. (Okay these pictures of the kids do not depict them hanging their ornament, but I wanted you to get the feel of it).
Some of my favorites that MarySue has sent our way. I really like the on that depicts our Dr. Jesse Knight. I think it resembles him. The kids love the heart and fight over who will get it if I ever decide to part with it. (I tell the girls when I'm dead and gone, they have to split it down the middle since they both want it and there is only one.)

Ornaments that represent Parker's "I love cows" stage. She was about two. And the slippers represents Ella, my beautiful girl who everyday, without fail, dresses and dances like a ballerinia.

This is one of my all time favorites. My niece Chandler brought it for us. She got it at her school's Christmas shop. I think it is one of my favorites because of all the people she could have been thinking about that day and buying a present for she thought of me and my family.

Of course, always near and dear to a mom's heart, the ones made by her babies.

A cherry blossum for our time in Georgia.

My mom got this for us from the Hershey factory here in PA before we even moved here. Of course it has added meaning now.

A red bird (cardinal) just because I think every tree should have a red bird. I also love this guy because I searched all over for it and the very day I put him on the tree Ella broke the very tip of his pointed head off. Well a little red paint covered the problem and he reminds me not to sweat the small stuff.
And a red hen, again because I think it's a must for every tree.
A wreath made of shells to remind me of all the trips I've taken to the beach in Flordia in my lifetime and the times my generous mom took Jess, the kids, and I to Flordia when we had no means of going ourselves. This one I love. It's from my mom and says the Knight Family. Each bear's hat has a member of our family's name on it, except for Asher, as he was not born yet. So if anyone sees a little bear with a Christmas hat ornament let me know and I'll go and get one.
And last, but certainly not least, an ornament in remembrance of my dad. It says, in loving memory, and contains his picture. I believe one also hangs on my sisters and mom's tree. This will always be one that is close to my heart.

I hope you have enjoyed my "Memory Tree".

And Craig if you read this and your racking your brain on what to get Jess for Christmas, I think a Hogzilla ornament would look just great on this tree.

So fun and sweet. Don't you love the way a memory tree "grows". It really looks great.
