It's a Jungle Out There
Thursday was not a great day for this mom, so I was determined to make Friday a better day. So the kids and I got an early start on our "Jungle" mission. We called our friends and invited them over for some jungle fun. First we got out our construction paper, glue, feathers, balloons, and tissue paper and got to work. We made jungle vines that were decorated with exotic butterflies (made using cut-outs of the kids' hands), leaves, and beautiful jungle flowers. We also made wild birds out of paper plates. Although they are hard to catch a glimpse of, you can see one if you look carefully at the back window.
We made black widows out of black balloons and streamers.
We made bugs out of egg cartons and pipe cleaners.

We added all of our jungle stuffed animals and a cave.

With mom's dirt cake, fruit and worm salad, jungle punch and jungle music in the background, we were ready to welcome our friends to the JUNGLE.
Needless to say this mom had a great day as her little "monkeys" were actively engaged all day in decorating for the party and were on their best behavior to ensure that they could attend.

What a super idea from busy, summer kids. You really went the extra mile on this one Christie. It all looks so cute and fun but of course I would notice the front door picture too and loved seeing all your pots of pretty flowers. Well done.
Super fun, Christie! I can't believe how adorably big Asher is getting!
You are a super star!!! That looked like a fun day. And your flowers look beautiful Christie. Thanks also for a fun idea to do with my kids. love ya
What fun, and easy to do on short notice. Maybe we will have to make some bugs tomorrow.
Wow! I want to be at your jungle day party. How do you do that on the fly? With 4 kiddos! Amazing. Your entry is beautiful. Love the pots too!
First time around I didn't even recognize Asher or Jackson, I totally thought they were your friends' kids! Gorgeous little people! Asher is getting big and seems to look like Pe in that regard!
