Not your typical night at the movies

The bag was packed with popcorn, cookies, licorice, and mini Milky Way candy bars. With kids freshly bathed and in their pj's, we hopped in the car at 8:45 pm with our pillows and blankets in hand. With 15 minutes to spare, we folded down the back seat of the minivan and put all the car seats on top of the van and settled down all together to enjoy a movie. The kids just couldn't believe that we would be watching a movie from the back of a minivan, afterall, we'd never done this before and it was an hour past their bed time. But there on the screen was the Pixar flick Ratatouille.

When the movie was over Ella and Jackson were already asleep, but Parker was ready for the second movie in our double feature marathon: Pirates of the Caribbean III.

Due to the graphic scenes in the begining minutes of the movie, Parker was asked to close her eyes until their completion. However, when they were over and it was safe for a five year old to watch, our five year old was sound asleep. Mommy and Daddy enjoyed the likes of Captain Jack Sparrow until the wee hour of 2:00 in the morning. This was quite a feat for two people who are normally in bed by nine! But for Captain Jack it was worth it!.....at least I thought so.

I would never last until 2 am watching movies. Never ever. Glad you had fun, though! Do you get to take the kids to church solo tomorrow while Dr. Jesse begins life as a dr?

How fun I wish there were more drive-thru's here that were close. I think that that would be fun to do with the kids. I might have to check into that. I have heard that the movie is great. Hope you had a great Sunday today.

Drive in's are so much fun. It has been years since I have been to one. But I know for sure -there in NO way I would be still awake at 2:00 AM!!! What do they do if everyone in the car is asleep?? I really want to take Hayden to see Rata...whatever that movie is called. It looks so good. Have a great 4th of July. Love you, Emily W

What fun! I don't even think they have drive in theaters in Southern California. I went to a drive in once when I was a kid, fell asleep and wet the "seat" in my dad's car. (Did I just reveal all that?)

Pepper I'm so glad your commenting on my blog. What fun. Don't worry your lack of bladder control as a child is safe with me.
